W-Box Default Password

Passwords are to be made to be forgotten. That is why the majority of websites have a popular “Forgot Your Password?” button. In this article, we will talk about the W-Box Default Password.

W-Box is a line of security equipment used for surveillance and focuses mainly on DVRs, NVRs, and IP cameras. This brand used to sell Hikvision OEM devices but has now transitioned into Sunell OEM devices instead. If you want to know what brands sell Hikvision, check out the Hikvision OEM list.

Default Usernames and Passwords

Before inputting the W-Box Default Password, you must know which OEM brand you own. Or you can try them all and see which one works for you.

Hikvision OEM

As previously stated, this is the old line of devices sold under the name “W-Box.” For these kinds of devices, the username is “admin,” and the default password is “wbox123.”

Sunell OEM

The new line, Sunell, has different default credentials. For both the username and password, use “admin” to gain access.

W-Box

If the above has not worked for you, there is one last combination of credentials you can try. Use “admin” as the username and “12345” as the W-Box Default Password.

Didn’t Work?

If the above three combinations fail to grant you access, then it is possible that the user has changed the default password and inputted their own.

There are some instances where there is no default password, and the device is open until the user turns it on, sets it up, and creates a password for the first time. Older versions tend to have a default password, and newer ones need activation.

Resetting W-Box Password

If you are looking for a way to reset the password on a W-Box device, then you’re in luck. To reset an IP camera’s password, you can start by opening the camera and turning it off and on.

Then you should press down on the reset button right after it turns back on. Keep it pressed for 20 seconds or so. Then let go of the button and let the camera reboot itself.

You may also reach out to the company or seller you bought it from. Usually, they will ask for some information from you regarding the camera and can then help you reset your password.

“Forgot Password”

You can also click on the “Forgot Password” button located on the login page. There will be different methods to recover your password; select the one you want to go through with.

If you have chosen to “Scan QR code and send it to your seller,” then you will have to reach out. To do so, try calling 1-833-574-9124, which is the W-Box technical support line.

Be ready to provide them with the serial number, which will also be displayed under the QR code, as shown in the image. A support agent should provide you with a temporary, 24-hour login password.

Use said password to log in to your account and reset your credentials before the temporary access expires. If 24 hours go by, then the password will become obsolete, and you will need to contact the technical support line for a new one.

You may also choose to “Send password to your E-mail” instead. This might be an easier path to recover your credentials, but only if you have already set up your email in the W-Box settings.

If you have never even set up a password, you can only use the first option and present the QR code to a technician who can assist you. When calling, have proof of purchase in hand, as you might be asked to provide it.

Changing Your W-Box Password

It is crucial to avoid relying on the W-Box Default Password. These default passwords can let anyone try to invade your camera or recording devices. It would be best if you created your own password soon after setting up your device.

To do so, log in to the interface, whether it is by using the 24-hour reset password provided by a technician or a W-Box Default Password shown above. Then head into the “System Settings” and find the “Privilege Manager” option. Lastly, select “Modify Password.”

Now you can type in the W-Box Default Password or temporary password to open the system to changes. After that, input the password you will use to get into the interface. Keep in mind some requirements apply.

For instance, passwords should have a combination of both lower and uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters. At least two of each must be present. Furthermore, there is a minimum of 6 characters and a maximum of 32.

An example of a password that would meet said requirements is: @Learn@CCTV123. Once you have a password that meets the requirements, save and apply the settings, and reboot your device.

Final Thoughts

There are a couple of default passwords you can try on W-Box devices. Once you have modified your password, try logging in to the interface using your brand-new password. You want to make sure it works just fine.
