This article is a review of the Wasserstein Floodlight with charger.
The device has a PIR sensor to detect motion and provides 2000 lumens of light to help a security camera capture videos on low-light conditions.
You can use it to work with Ring cameras or as a Ring Spotlight alternative.
I received a product sample in my office.
As you can see in the picture, the box describes the product as compatible with Ring Spotlight Cam Battery and Ring Stick Up Cam Battery.
NOTE: This product is primarily designed to work with the ring camera models previously mentioned and comes with a cable to connect to such cameras. However, I also tried other cameras such as the Reolink Argus 3 and Wyze Cam and got a good result (more on that later in this review).
Keep reading to the end to see some important details about this product.
Wasserstein Floodlight Overview
The product is designed to charge the camera and illuminate dark areas.
With a PIR sensor, the device detects motion from up to 33 feet away.
The powerful lights turn on as soon as motion is detected.

Application scenario
The picture below is from the Wasserstein website and shows an example of the product installed with a ring camera. As you can see, there's a USB cable connected to the camera to power it up. There's no need for conventional battery recharging.
The PIR sensor located on the product detects motion and turns on the lights.
See the pictures below that compare the different scenarios.
OK, those are the manufacturer pictures.
Let's take a look at the product ourselves.
What is in the box
I got the white version of the product for this review.
It comes with everything necessary for the installation.
The picture below shows the floodlight and the installation accessories such as screws, wire nuts, a crossbar, and an EVA gasket. There's also a USB cable, a wrench, and a screw converter to adapt to different types of cameras .
The product also comes with a detailed installation manual.
The floodlight
The product has an interesting design.
There's a PIR sensor for motion detection and a mounting screw for the camera.
The kit brings a screw adapter to fit other camera models.

You are not limited only to the ring cameras.
As long as you install and power the floodlight, you can connect it to other cameras using a different type of USB cable (not included on the kit).

Wasserstein Floodlight with a Reolink camera
Yeah, I tested the floodlight with the Reolink Argus 3.
This camera is a battery-powered and uses a USB cable for recharging.
The picture below shows the camera attached to the floodlight.
Using the camera USB cable, I could power the camera without a problem.
The device between the camera and the floodlight is a USB power meter.
I tested the power before connecting it to the camera 😉
As you can see in the picture below, the device powers the camera with 5V.
Yeah, it works pretty good to rechard the camera's battery.
The Reolink app shows the camera charging...
So, I tested the floodlight and noticed that it's very powerful.
Let's take a look at some details.
The tests with a Reolink camera
The Reolink Argus 3 is a spotlight camera with a PIR sensor.
This camera can detect motion and illuminate the area itself.
So, why should I use the floodlight, you mays ask?
Well, the Wasserstein floodlight has a powerful light and can charge the camera.
The picture below shows an example where I disabled the camera spotlight to use the floodlight. As you can see the result is pretty impressive.
You can install the camera to monitor a larger, darker area and forget about removing it from its place for recharging.
I noticed that the lights stay on for 45 seconds after the motion stops.
