Soliom Wireless Solar Camera Overview

The Soliom S600 is an outdoor wireless Pan/Til security camera powered by batteries. A solar panel can charge it to work 24/7.

It moves its head horizontally (320º) and vertically (90º) to monitor everything around the premises, and it's capable of capturing audio with an internal microphone.

With 1080p Full resolution, the camera captures clear images during the day and turns its spotlights or infrared LEDs at nighttime.

A PIR motion sensor allows the camera to detect motion caused by humans and animals to trigger the recording, which is done in a local micro SD card or into the cloud. (paid services)

Let's take a look at the camera details.

The box brings the camera, the solar panel with its battery box, plastic anchors, installation screws, a USB cable, a user's quick guide, and an installation template, which the manufacturer calls "Position Paper" 🙂

In the front part, there's a lens, a microphone, an ambient light sensor, a spotlight, an IR LED to illuminate dark areas, and a PIR sensor to detect motion.

The solar panel has an ON/OFF button and a charging port for the batteries.

In the back part of the camera there's a cover for the SD card and reset button.

The back part

In the camera's back, there's a reset button and a micro SD card slot.

The backport has a regular Philips screw that is easy to remove.

The camera features

This camera some interesting features.

Let's take a look at them...

Camera resolution

The Soliom S600 captures images with 1080presolution, which means you can set up the camera to record videos with 1920 x1080 pixels.

It has excellent quality, as you can see in the picture below.

This picture is a representation of the number of pixels the camera can capture.

Night Vision

This Soliom S600 camera works well at nighttime.

The camera has white and IR LEDs to work during the night.

You can choose which one you want to use to illuminate dark areas.

The White LEDs illuminate the area with visible light, which is very useful to scare people who approach your premises, while the IR LEDs work with a spectrum of light that is not visible to the naked eye, so only the camera can see in the dark.

Weatherproof

The Soliom S600 iweatherproof to install outdoor and won't have any problem with rain. It's IP65 rated (which means it complies with the international standard).

The camera Spotlight

With the camera spotlight, it's possible to illuminate a dark area and still have color images, which is interesting to capture details such as the color of a car or t-shirt.

It's possible to turn the IR LED or the white lights using the buttons available in the Soliom app as shown in the pictures below.

Bi-directional (two-way) audio

The Soliom camera has a microphone and a speaker to allow bi-directional audio communication, so it's possible to hear the sounds around the camera and speak to someone close to it.

Push notification

The camera can send push notifications to the Soliom app

See below an example of the alert that I got in my smartphone.

The PIR sensor detects motion and triggers the notification.

SD Card Recording

You can use a micro SD card to record the videos.

The picture below shows the micro SD card information in the Soliom App.

I recommend you to buy a class 10 micro SD card to avoid problems.

Stick the card into the camera and use the web interface to turn on the recording

Cloud Recording

The camera allows you to record in the micro SD card and also in the cloud.

If  something happens to your camera, you will have the footage in the cloud.

You can retrieve the video via the Soliom mobile app
